The Sisters Three

These three sisters, good Catholic girls all,
grew up to become nuns, as devout as could be.
The sisters, now Sisters, never stumbled, never did fall
from their Jesus-loving vows, exemplary nuns all three.

For more than forty years they excelled at nun-ing,
becoming greatly loved and admired by all they knew.
This day they were driving in a rainstorm, wipers running,
visibility poor, as a man who had consumed quite a few

shots of evil liquor drove his pickup around the curve,
to meet them head-on. They swerved to avoid the collision
and sped over the cliff…to keep from panic took real nerve.
As down a steep ravine they careened, fate made no provision

for their survival. They awaken standing before the Pearly Gate.
St. Peter greets them warmly, “Of the lives you’ve led, we think
the highest. For any to enter into Heaven, my examination awaits;
but for you my questions will be easy,” and he gives them a wink.

The first nun stands before St. Peter. “Well now, what was the name
of the first man that God created in the Garden of Eden?” he asks.
“Adam”, the nun replies, laughing. St. Peter is laughing the same,
“Correct! You may enter Heaven now that you completed your task.”

The second nun stands before St. Peter. “Okay, what was the name
of the first woman that God created in the Garden of Eden?” he asks.
“Eve”, the nun answers, laughing. St. Peter is laughing the same,
“Correct! You may enter Heaven now that you finished this task.”

The third Sister steps before St. Peter. “The easiest questions have been
used already. Thus, I am afraid your question will be a bit more difficult.
What was the first thing Eve said to Adam upon meeting him in the Garden?”
She thinks… She ponders…“Boy, that sure is a hard one!” “Excellent.
You may go right in.”
